How do we live together?

What we believe as a church matters, but how we live as Christians also matters. James warns: “If anyone thinks he is religious without controlling his tongue, his religion is useless and he deceives himself” (James 1:26). Likewise, the apostle, John, told Christians, “This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commands” (1 John 2:3).

So while our Statement of Faith summarises what we believe, our Church Covenant captures something of how the members of Emmanuel live together with one another. Our acceptance of this covenant follows the practice of believers throughout the centuries, who have promised to God and one another to live the Gospel out in community.
